Children's Ministry Schedule
Click HERE to view an example of a schedule for children's ministry outreaches. (This is also the same ministry we do for children at feeding kitchens and orphanages.) There is extra information within the schedule to help guide you in the way you order your activities, as well as to offer suggestions for games and activities. Skits, human videos, and illustrations are always good to integrate into your teachings and song times. It helps the children to learn better and remember more.
IMPORTANT: Please consider preparing something for the adults present at children's outreaches. There are usually a lot of parents and grandparents that stay, which is a great opportunity to minister to them. Some team prepare some worship, a message, one or two personal testimonies, and also one-on-one prayer time with the adults. If you have enough team members and resources, holding a women's ministry at the same time works very well, as most of the adults are women. Women's ministry includes worship, Bible teaching, sharing the gospel, crafts or activities, and testimonies. You may also consider blessing the director and workers at orphanages in some special way. When doing ministry at a feeding kitchen, it usually just women that stay, however there is not usually a place to hold women's ministry for them. Designating a few team members to paint the ladies' nails, pray with them, and maybe make some jewelry, is a huge blessing.
Lessons, Crafts & More
There are a lot of resources out there for children's and youth ministry lessons. This is one that we have used and recommend. They have lessons in English for you to use, as well as Spanish for your team or translator. The lessons include printable worksheets, crafts, and more. They have the same lesson for multiple age groups, so when choosing a lesson that falls under multiple age groups (which is most of the time), please consider printing worksheets for all of the age groups that apply. Be sure to print all of the crafts and activities in Spanish. The English version is only for your teacher if they are teaching in English with a translator.

Children's Ministry Songs
Below are songs to help you with your kids' worship. For the songs that have chords, we have given you a .pdf version, as well as an editable .doc file so you can edit the song and put it in a different key if needed. Please contact Connections' Outreach Coordinator if you need any help in planning worship time for children.
Here is a list of popular songs right now with a link to a video with motions that you can learn. This is great when you don't have a worship leader or guitar player. 5-8 people from your team can learn the motions and lead these songs for the children. The rest of your team should still learn the motions, but they will do them in the crowd with the children. We are including a .pdf of the lyrics for each song so that your team can learn them, or at least try and mouth the words if they are up front.
IMPORTANT: You may purchase the following songs on Amazon in order to rehearse them. If you are planning to play any songs, be sure to download them and bring them with you. Do no rely on your data or WiFi to play videos. Also, let the Connections Ministry Coordinator know if you will be playing songs or instruments so that arrangements can be made for microphones, cables, and a speaker. Connections House also has a guitar, keyboard and cajón that you may use if you let us know ahead of time. When we have more than one team, instruments will be given to the team that requests them first.
NOTES ABOUT DOING SONGS WITH MOTIONS: If you choose different motions than the ones shown in these videos, or decide to make up your own, please try to keep them simple. Especially if you are not doing a four- or five-day VBS, it will be hard for the children (particularly the younger ones) to catch on. Also, take a few minutes before each song to teach the kids the motions slowly.
